Since 1978, Phoenix has been the name behind the original nylon watch straps issued to British service members. Built to exact Ministry of Defence specifications and made entirely in the UK, these were never fashion accessories. They were tools of service, worn in demanding environments from field operations to daily military use. Each strap carried with it a practical purpose and a level of consistency required by issued equipment.

These straps are newly manufactured in the UK by the same maker behind Phoenix, who supplied the British Ministry of Defence for more than 20 years. Having held the original MoD contract, he has now recently reopened his workshop. This current production features thicker webbing and a firmer hand than later-generation examples. In our view, they more closely replicate the feel and wear of the original straps issued on vintage Milsubs.
