1976 Rolex Datejust 1601 Warm Dial with Onyx Markers

Curator Thoughts
The 1601 is a great start to any Rolex obsession or even a perfect addition to a well-put-together collection. Featuring a pie pan dial, the 1601 has a nice vintage feel to it while still showing a sense of sophistication. From two tone sigma dials to all steel blue dials, the 1601 has so many fun configurations. On top of that, the prices are great and the 36mm case wears like a dream. This 1601 is simple and clean, with a tritium dial for some vintage character. The dial has a gorgeous warm hue to it closer to an actual champagne color and the black onyx inlays on the hour markers give the watch a bit of pop.

Condition Analysis
This 1601 is in good condition for its age. The watch looks to be unpolished. The jubilee bracelet has all its links and has very minimal stretch which is rare for its age. The dial is silver and has begun to gain a warmer patina, almost champagne in color. The dial also has some wear on the edges with risen paint giving it a bubbly look. The hour markers have all their tritum lume and black inlays.
