1995 Rolex Submariner Cream Lume (Ref. 14060)

$8,900.00

Worth A Read

These early 14060s with cream lume plots are some of the best examples from one of the most recognizable dive watch lines in history. Produced during the mid-1990s, this reference is part of the early run of tritium-dial 16610s before Rolex transitioned to Luminova in the late '90s. Over time, the tritium luminous material on many of these watches has aged to a beautiful creamy patina, providing warmth and vintage character against the otherwise crisp, glossy black dial. This naturally occurring tonal shift makes these early 14060s particularly desirable among collectors seeking individuality in an otherwise modern design.

The Submariner - In 1954, Rolex introduced the first Submariner model, which became the most recognized luxury sports watch. The watch was water-resistant up to 100 meters and became the most sought-after watch. Since then, Rolex has made numerous changes and developments, including the introduction of the 6204 and 6205 models, the 6536 and 6538 references, and the 1030 reference. The company has made significant contributions to the watchmaking industry.

In the early 1960s, Rolex introduced several models, including the 5508 and 5510, with numerous dial changes. The 5512 and 5513 models featured lacquered dials with gold or silver printing. The Submariner 1680 introduced a date display in 1968, following the Sea-Dweller. The first Submariner 1680 had a collector's item "Red Submariner" dial, with six dial versions. The Submariner 1680 was produced until 1979. The first Submariner in solid yellow gold was the Submariner Date, a success in Italy and the US market. Over the next 40 years, the Submariner underwent technical developments, improved water-resistance, new movements, and aesthetic changes.
