Gerald Genta and Audemars Piguet might be known for the Royal Oak but that's not all that came from the two working together. In the 70s, while Genta was working on one of his most important pieces (The Royal Oak), he was also creating a beautiful dress watch.
The reference 5369 was born in the 70s with the Royal Oak and both were designed by Genta. The 5369 came to life with a steel tonneau case and some even housed the same automatic movement as the Royal Oak. The one available here is the first to come to market from what we've seen. A fantastic linen dial but that's not what makes this watch so rare. It's a small and simple difference that makes this watch beautiful. The hands and hour markers feature an amazing pine green lacquer finish. A design element that is seldom, if ever, seen on vintage Audemars Piguet.
