Patek Philippe Ellipse Jumbo Automatic Claud De Paris Dial (Ref. 3604)

$17,900.00

Worth The Read

Patek Philippe's "Ellipse" model, introduced in 1968, is a symbol of the Swiss luxury watchmaking brand. The elliptical shape, inspired by the golden ratio, is a distinctive feature of the watch. The oval case, elegant and balanced, stands out as an icon of style and discreet luxury. The watch's timeless and unisex design allows Patek Philippe to showcase its craftsmanship. The Ellipse is one of the oldest lines after the Calatrava. Over the years, Patek Philippe has produced various variations using different materials, dials, horological complications, or by playing with the shape itself. Examples include the first oversized Ellipse with automatic winding (reference 3605) and the quartz hybrid between the Nautilus and Ellipse (reference 3770). Despite these variations, the distinctive elliptical shape remains a central feature of this iconic model. The understated communication of Patek Philippe resembles that of Porsche, showcasing their commitment to their craft and commitment to their customers.
