1969 Rolex Datejust 1601-3 Engine Turned

Condition Analysis
A Datejust that has been enjoyed as it should be. The dial has noticeable patina with the silver dial slowly turning champagne. The case has wear throughout but is mainly noticeable on the caseback and the bottom of the two left lugs. This watch was truly worn and enjoyed but still runs great!

Curator Thoughts
The 4-digit Datejust is a great start to any Rolex obsession or a perfect addition to a well-put-together collection. Featuring a pie pan dial, the 4-digit Datejust has a nice vintage feel to it while still showing a sense of sophistication. From two-tone Sigma dials to all steel blue dials, the 1601 and 1603 have many fun configurations. On top of that, the prices are great, and the 36mm case wears like a dream. It's always fun to find small differences in vintage Rolex. This specific one, comes cased with the reference 1601-3 before they had their own reference compared to the 1601.
